Greys River Loop
80 Miles, 3,672 Ft Climbing
The race starts on Smith's Fork Road which is at the South end of Star Valley part way up Salt River Pass. The race ends in Alpine on Greys River Road.
The course is climb heavy in the opening miles reaching almost 10,000 feet elevation by mile 17. Don't be deceived by the elevation profile which would lead you to believe the climbing is done for the day. There are plenty of uphill pitches and challenges to conquer along the rest of the course.
This route features mostly well groomed dirt and gravel roads. There are some rough sections though and at times sections of washboard.
Race creator and director Bob Lofgran recommends a hard tail mountain bike for this course or a gravel/cyclocross bike.
